So a computer voice will read what's on the screen for you and read what buttons you're about to press if you touch it (touch screen) or roll your mouse pointer on it. Windows, Mac, iPhones/iPads, and Android phones/tablets all come with screen readers built-in. There are lots of programs and tools/magnifiers to make it easier for the blind to read. Only 9% are completely blind and see nothing. Sometimes it's only seeing light and shadow, or very blurry haze, but most of us have some vision. And without glasses is ten times worse for me.Īctually, a lot of blind people have some vision left. Most people with glasses can see really well if they wear their glasses, but not me. Glasses still work for me a little, they improve things but I still see very badly with glasses. However, reading things on paper is much harder for me.
So I still have quite a bit of sight still, which makes it possible for me to read electronically on a computer screen. You're not rude at all! I'd love to tell you! Oh.may.I.ask without being .read?
